Gian Carlo L2025-10-04Outstanding Bhutan Trip Bhutan was one of my dream destinations, and it didn't disappoint...it was everything I'd imagined and hoped for. I was fortunate I booked my trip with an outstanding tour operator, Holidays Bhutan. The itinerary prepared by its owner, Sangay Lhamo, felt intentional, personal. Apart from the usual must see/must do, she threw in some activities that were immersive and special...from the welcome tea by the river, to homestays, to farewell lunch (with going away presents!), to celebrating a special Bhutan holiday with her loved ones. It wasn't just breezing through one activity after another. And her itinerary was brilliantly executed by the knowledgeable guide, Rinzin. He was very attentive and engaging, was able to make last minute adjustments according to what was needed at the time. The driver, Kuenzang, was equally attentive, always ready with a smile and drinks in the car after an acitivity. Holidays Bhutan made my trip even more memorable.Verified
Carlos R2025-09-29A Reputable Operator That Delivers A Personal Touch I was about to make payment to what was likely a bogus tour operator because their website suddenly disappeared, so I turned to Holidays Bhutan with caution. Sangay provided their certification information, and a link to the Bhutan Department of Tourism. She also accepted half payment up front instead of full payment like other operators. This allayed my concerns. She booked my flight from Bangkok to Paro expeditiously and offered to have a SIM waiting for me to save me the hassle of getting my own. My international phone plan had previously always covered me, but not in Bhutan. [A note about my unlimited eSIM with TashiCell, it had a limit of five texts, so plan on using a messaging app or finding a SIM plan that includes texts.] Her attention to detail was superb. My car always had bottled water for every journey, and she and my guide, Rinzin, adjusted my meal plan to local fiery food rather than the typical mild tourist fare. Upon failing to find ara among the alcoholic drinks in stores, I asked where I could find their traditional alcoholic drink, and she unexpectedly gifted me a home-brewed bottle as well as served a version with egg and butter during a social bonding lunch.I had expected difficulties communicating in English, but English is taught in schools and is the language of instruction for other subjects. Even considering that, Rinzin has a vast vocabulary and deftly answered my curious questions of their culture and history and explained the background of each of our stops exceptionally thoroughly and well, and, I would say, better than most native speakers. His goal is to guide tourists not only to see the country but also to feel it, and I clearly felt it when raising a prayer flag atop a mountain as he chanted a Bhuddist prayer and when he found a good site to launch a Chinese lantern I carried to help work through my grief, wrote a Buddhist prayer on it, and helped me launch it with our driver Kuen Zang.Kuen Zang and Rinzin have worked together for years, and I sensed friendship between them. I felt fortunate to have relaxing drives as they engaged in long conversations between them and filled me in on their Covid travails, home life, relationship with China, Tibet and India, etc. I never felt that they were working to a clock eager to finish with me as quickly as possible each day and often joined me for meals, at my request. They don't work exclusively for Holidays Bhutan. Although I trust that Sangay would always provide excellent guides and drivers, I plan to request them in my next trip to Bhutan. The last day of a tour is largely uneventful, and many operators simply take tourists to the airport. With a later flight, they squeezed in a couple of tourist spots and there was a personal farewell lunch by the river. At their initiative, they moved the cultural dance from the prior night to the departing day because Sangay noted that it was my birthday. It was a wonderful way to celebrate. Holidays Bhutan presented me with a very Bhutanese gift as one would see in the Temple of Fertility in Punakha. I would never have bought one, but having received it as a gift opens the wonderful opportunity to discuss with my friends this quirky element of Bhutan's culture.I will cherish my memories of Bhutan, its wonderful people like Sangay, Rinzin and Kuen Zang, and the personal touches that Holidays Bhutan added to make it even more memorable, contrary to large operators.Verified
Audrey K2025-09-27Awesome short trip coordinated within a relatively short notice I was planning a solo trip and had very little time in Bhutan due to the limited direct flights from Singapore to Bhutan and was specific about what I wanted to cover. Most operators advised me that a longer duration is required or that it’s better if I can fit my dates with other tour groups. A friend suggested that I contact this operator and Sangay understood my constraints and tailored something for me very quickly. The cost was also very reasonable. Overall I had an awesome time in Bhutan thanks to Sangay, my guide and the driver. I appreciate how prompt Sangay is in replying my questions and gave me advise on weather conditions, reminder on things to bring along etc nearing my trip. My tour guide was Sonam, who wanted to make sure I make the most of my time in Bhutan and sat down with me on the first day to understand if there were places I prefer not to visit even if it’s the default places tourists go, and replace them instead, which was perfect for me as I preferred nature stuff to handicrafts, for example. He also has a flair for photography n making social videos and will guide me on the best spots and angles.Verified
Alessandra Z2025-01-21A Cultural and Spiritual Haven My journey to Bhutan, organized seamlessly by Holidays Bhutan, was an unforgettable experience of history, spirituality, and cultural immersion. Nestled in the Himalayas, Bhutan’s deep Buddhist roots shape its way of life. Highlights like Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) and the majestic Punakha Dzong showcased the country’s devotion to its heritage and spirituality. The Bhutanese people radiate warmth and contentment. Festivals with vibrant dances and traditional attire, offered a glimpse into their rich traditions. Thanks to Holidays Bhutan’s meticulous planning, every moment—from exploring cultural landmarks to savoring local food—was enriching.Bhutan is more than a destination; it’s a reflection of harmony and simplicity. This trip left me inspired, with a renewed perspective on life’s true essence. I highly recommend Holidays Bhutan for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable journey.Verified
Irene W2024-09-19My Experience Traveling with Holidays Bhutan I didn’t envisage Bhutan as I had experienced. Everything was good from beginning to end. Holidays Bhutan did a great job. Arranged a culture tour itinerary for me as I do not hike and has fear of heights. Accommodations, Foods, Places visited were good and out of the ordinary. When I shared with other travellers I met along the way, they were not so excited of theirs and felt I had a better one. I will travel again with Holidays Bhutan to other parts of Bhutan knowing that I will be well taken care of. Thumbs up to Holidays Bhutan for a good job done.👍👍👍Verified
Kathryn H2024-06-02The best of Bhutan your way with Holidays Bhutan This is my second trip to Bhutan and my second with Holidays Bhutan. Both trips have been amazing - 30 days in 2022 and 25 days in 2024. I am a solo traveler and Holidays Bhutan has for both trips customized my travel. I communicated with Holidays Bhutan of my interests and my trip was organized around these. I have enjoyed cultural events such as the fall festivals, temples, monasteries, and of course my climb to Tiger's Nest. In addition I am most interested in textiles, arts and crafts, plein air painting, and fishing. Holidays Bhutan organized my tours to include all of these. I received a detailed itinerary from Holidays Bhutan and then responded with any comments and requested changes. These were immediately considered by staff at Holidays Bhutan and my itinerary modified. I also requested a large variety of accommodation and Holidays Bhutan set up my trip to include everything farm stays, family owned guest houses, and hotels at levels to 3 star. Holidays Bhutan checks these out carefully, including checking with the guide. I also quite liked that staff at Holidays Bhutan asked my opinion on each so that I could submit my review to them. At my first farm stay I actually milked a cow for the first time, though it did result in little milk! In 2022 I traveled to Eastern Bhutan, going as far as Merek. What an amazing experience. If you are interested in the details of my 2022 trip check out Bhutan30.com I think you will get a sense of the spectacular trip Holidays Bhutan put together for me.So, in summary - do travel to Bhutan. You will not regret a minute of your journey. Secondly, there are many tour operators for Bhutan, but if you want an operator that will truly listen to your wants and needs then Holidays Bhutan is the one!Verified

She planned the perfect itinerary for us and made sure we were well taken care of :) she even invited us to her house for dinner with her family and planned a surprise birthday celebration for me! I’m sure everyone already knows Bhutan is a beautiful place, but for me the warm-hearted hospitality of the Bhutanese was what made the trip so memorable. It was such a perfect break from our hectic city life. 100% recommend Sangay’s travel agency if you ever visit Bhutan!Verified
